Brunei 2016
Brunei 2016 Brunei is interesting because you immediately see that the ruler has spent a lot of the oil money with the objective to make a modern state. There is much building work going on including a couple of bridges. We were there during the Ramadan and it made it difficult to eat out during the day. You can buy food in some restaurants; however you are not allowed to eat it there or on the street. Luckily in a closed club like The Royal Brunei Yacht Club you can eat as normal. Brunei is a state ruled according to the Sharia laws, and we were told that there is virtually no crime in this small population of approx 395,000 inhabitants.
